Dale Treadwell treads well in St Marys!!

On December 3rd, Dale Treadwell came and visited the First Class children.  He told them all about Harry the Hedgehog.  He then visited our classrooms to see what minibeasts we had collected.  He had brought some minibeasts to visit us too!

Can you identify any of the minibeasts in the pictures below?

First Class go on a Minibeast Hunt

On the 3rd December 2013, Rooms 12 and 13 went on a minibeast hunt! What fun we had!!

We found worms, slugs, a spider and lots of other creepy crawlies out in our school yard.  We were amazed at the variety of life in such a small space!!  We gently collected them and brought them inside to view.  We then brought them back outside to where we got them from.  We really enjoyed viewing the minibeasts up close.

We had such an amazing day!

Biodiversity blog - an introduction.

St Mary's Convent Primary School has, to date, been awarded 5 green flags as part of the Green Schools initiative.

The staff and children of St Mary's are now working towards their 6th Green Flag.  The theme of this flag is Biodiversity.

Watch this space for all the work we will be doing around Biodiversity.  The children on our Green Schools Committee will use this Biodiversity Blog to update you on their ongoing progress.
